People attempting to survive on a diet of constant thoughts... thinking... projecting... imagining... fantasizing... resenting... mentally litigating and re-litigating experiences... regretting... perhaps caught in shame, blame, and/or guilt... perhaps obsessing and craving for things in their head... lamenting what one doesn't have, neglecting what they do... are oftentimes starved of Reality. Thinking about reality is not the same as living in and as reality. This is the great and dynamic lesson of Zen, as we train to support people in stopping the practice and process of thinking themselves to death literally and figuratively.
